National Security Technologies and WSI Nevada Team employees have come together once again for the Southern Nevada and Nye County communities. More than 25 barrels overflowing with toys and 86 bicycles were donated this year to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.

DRA has provided policy support, performance plans, and job descriptions for federal staff both at Albuquerque and at NNSA headquarters.  DRA also supports the DOE Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, enabling DRA to be cited by the Federal Times as one of the top fifty intelligence services contractors to the federal government.

groupA part of NNSA’s Small Business Week, today’s profile highlights Vector Resources, Inc. (VRI), a woman-owned small business, which provides NNSA with project management, engineering, quality and safety services, performance assurance, and business process improvement across the full spectrum of DOE mission areas including energy, defense programs, science, security, and environmental management.

Vector has extensive experience in the assessment of nuclear projects for quality, regulatory and safety compliance, and cost and schedule performance. Vector has worked closely with NNSA and its sites in addressing the technical and management aspects of several nuclear weapon and environmental related projects as well as the stockpile stewardship and defense science programs and campaigns. Vector has also performed work involving enterprise management and integration; project and construction management; portfolio analysis; programming, planning, budgeting, and evaluation (PPBE) process; governance transformation; line oversight; contractor assurance systems; and performance measurement systems. NNSA announced Monday that it distributed more than $362 million in small business obligations for federal prime contracts in fiscal year 2011. NNSA surpassed its departmental small business goal by 27 percent in fiscal year 2011.

To highlight the success of its small business program, NNSA has launched the third annual “NNSA Small Business Week.” This week, NNSA is featuring a different small business of the day on the NNSA Blog. box

Today’s profile highlights Container Technologies Industries, LLC (CTI), a Small business located in Helenwood, Tenn. Since December 1999, CTI has provided the nuclear industry with many types of products, including containers for the storage, transport, and disposal nuclear waste.

CTI has supplied Y-12 with shipping containers for the past three years and have supplied Y-12 in excess of 1670 containers with no rejections for quality issues.
