NNSA Appoints Kim Davis Lebak to Head Los Alamos Field Office

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has announced that Kim Davis Lebak will be the Los Alamos Field Office Manager effective January 2014. As Field Office Manager, Lebak will serve as the Secretary of Energy’s senior representative on site at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.

“With her strong leadership skills and wide experience at both headquarters and in the field, Kim is perfect as our Los Alamos Field Office Manager,” said Acting NNSA Administrator Bruce Held. “Secretary Moniz and I believe that Kim and Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Charlie McMillan will make a great team in promoting mission excellence in science, security, nuclear safety and project management.”

Lebak has been the Lawrence Livermore Field Office Manager since January 2012. Previously, she served as Acting Site Office Manager at Sandia in Albuquerque, N.M., and Deputy Site Office Manager. Prior to her work at Sandia, Lebak served in Department of Energy and NNSA headquarters as well as at the Pantex and Savannah River field offices.

Nicole Nelson-Jean will become Acting Field Office Manager at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory upon Lebak's departure. Nelson-Jean worked directly for Acting Administrator Held as chief of the NNSA Executive Secretariat and most recently as a Senior Adviser to the NNSA Administrator on detail to the Los Alamos Field Office.
