The Enabling Technologies portion of the PD program seek to fill long-term technical needs that support the proliferation detection mission and explore new, less mature technology areas. Enabling technology programs support the mission area programs with research in the areas of:
- Advanced Materials to develop new capabilities in detector applications
- Simulation, Algorithms, and Modeling to develop new computational techniques for applications in the detection of proliferant activities through the nuclear fuel cycle; and
- Remote Sensing to improve capabilities to detect proliferation activities at facilities where we are denied close-in access.
