WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has announced that Kimberly Davis has been selected as the manager of the Livermore Site Office, effective February 2012. She will succeed Alice Williams who will be joining the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Environmental Management in early January 2012.
“Given Kim’s knowledge of the NNSA programs from a field and headquarters perspective, her technical expertise, and her leadership skills, I have full confidence in her ability to serve as the Livermore Site Office manager,” said Phil Calbos, Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for NNSA’s Defense Program.
The Livermore Site Office is responsible for administering the management and operations contract for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, as well as managing federal activities at the laboratory.
Davis has served as the deputy manager at the Sandia Site Office (SSO) since January 2007 and had been the acting deputy manager since December 2005. In this role, she assisted the site manager in the day-to-day operations of the site office and oversight of the Sandia National Laboratories, a $2.5 billion per year multi-program laboratory. Prior to her work at the SSO she served in NNSA and DOE headquarters as well as at the Pantex and Savannah River site offices.
Davis had previously worked for the Departmental Representative to the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, where she performed engineering and technical liaison duties between DOE and the Board. Davis also worked on Capitol Hill as a technical advisor to a U.S. Representative.
