Geoff Beausoleil

Geoffrey L. (Geoff) Beausoleil is the Manager for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Production Office (NPO).  In this capacity, he is responsible for the overall administration of the Management and Operating Contract for the Pantex and Y12 Plants, the day-to-day administration of the NPO, and oversight of Plant operations.  The mission of the Y12 and Pantex Plants is to maintain the nuclear weapons stockpile; provide enriched uranium for naval, research, and isotope production reactors; and support nonproliferation activities to reduce the global nuclear threat.

Geoff has over 30 years of experience in nuclear industry with experience at the Department of Energy (DOE) and Newport News Shipbuilding.  Prior to his NPO assignment, Geoff served as the Manager at the NNSA Sandia Field Office, the Deputy Manager at the NNSA Pantex Site Office, the Assistant Manager, Office of Operational Support at the DOE Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID), and as the DOE-ID Integrated Safety Management Champion.  In the DOE-ID position, Geoff was responsible for all of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site environment, quality, safety, health, worker protection, safeguards/security, emergency management, and information technology programs.  Prior to that assignment, other positions held by Geoff at DOE-ID included Director of the Quality and Safety Division and the Facility Director for the Radioactive Waste Management Complex and the Waste Reduction Operations Complex.  At these facilities, Geoff was responsible for all transuranic, low-level, hazardous, and mixed-waste operations.

During his tenure at Newport News Shipbuilding, Geoff held various engineering positions such as Submarine System Test Engineer, Submarine Hull Structure Field Engineer, and Reactor Refueling Engineer.  Geoff left Newport News as a Qualified Chief Refueling Engineer.

Geoff is a 1981 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with a focus in Marine Engineering.

Geoff and his wife Linda have four children and two grandchildren.  If Geoff had any spare time, he would ride horses, hunt/shoot, and spend time in the wilderness.
