The Trident glass laser system consists of three high-energy beams that can be delivered to two independent target experimental areas. Its long-pulse capabilities have led to innovations in unique loading techniques for material dynamics research. Its short pulse capability includes very high temporal intensity contrast pulses that are needed for some high-intensity laser-matter interaction experiments.
