Farewell message from NNSA administrator

On January 20th, I will be departing government service and stepping down as the DOE Under Secretary for Nuclear Security and NNSA Administrator.
It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to serve alongside the women and men who work at NNSA, our national laboratories, our production plants, and our specialized sites as we carried out our vitally important and enduring nuclear security missions. Your extraordinary skills, devotion to duty, and patriotism have led to many remarkable achievements over the past four years. You have maintained the safety, security, and effectiveness of America’s nuclear weapons stockpile; helped reduce the threat of nuclear proliferation and nuclear terrorism at home and abroad; and designed, developed, and deployed nuclear propulsion systems to the U.S. Navy’s fleet of aircraft carriers and submarines.
I am so very proud of you and of what we have accomplished together as a team. You will always have a special place in my heart.
I know that in the years to come, you will continue your work with the same dedication and fervor that you have shown throughout my time at NNSA. I will continue to follow your progress and applaud your successes. I wish you all the best for the future.
Thank you again for your service; and may God bless you!
