NNSA team members who led efforts in fundraising for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) in 2015 were recognized recently at the Department of Energy (DOE) 2015 CFC Awards Ceremony.
CFC, the Federal government’s annual giving drive, is the world’s largest annual workplace charity campaign. DOE team members contributed more than $880,000 during the 2015 CFC fundraising drive, with NNSA raising more than $200,000.
Vince Micone, chairman of the CFC National Capital Area board of directors, presented awards for offices reporting 75 percent employee participation or averaging $275 per capita gifts. NNSA as a whole and the Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation were recognized for achieving this exceptional rate of contribution. Also recognized for outstanding contributions to the campaign were NNSA’s offices of Defense Nuclear Security, Safety Infrastructure & Operations, External Affairs, Information Management, and Counterterrorism.
From bake sales and taco buffets, to yard sales, concert events, and holiday party fundraisers, the efforts of DOE and NNSA team members consistently put DOE among the top federal agencies for contributions in the capitol region, breaking the $1 million mark during the 2014 campaign.
